Kids Ministries Kids Ministries Team Mission Statement:
The Kids Ministries Team is responsible for educating, nurturing, and inspiring children of the church and their families as they follow their own faith journeys. Sunday Morning Church School:
Children and youth are very important at North Church. We provide them with many opportunities to learn about our relationships with God and others. Children learn to think about the meaning of Bible stories and to imagine what the words meant to people long ago and what they mean to us today. We also focus upon stewardship opportunities for children through offerings and mission projects.
During the academic year, classes for children 4 years old through 8th grade meet from 9:30am to 10:25am on Sunday mornings. Senior Highs are encouraged to participate in one of the Life-Long Learning classes. Sunday School Registration Form GodZone:
Children attend worship at 10:45am with their parents; children ages 4 through 2nd grade are excused to GodZone - children’s worship - following children's time, and return to the sanctuary after the sermon.
Childcare for Infants through 3-year-olds is provided in our nursery for the entire Sunday morning program (8:30am worship, 9:30am Christian Education and 10:45am worship).
Vacation Bible School:
This exciting program, for children entering Kindergarten through Grade 6, takes place for one week during the summer and provides a concentrated time of Bible stories, music, drama, art, and recreation. Children from the community join children from North Church in this fun-filled week of learning. This past summer, the week of July 30-August 30, our curriculum was based around the "Great Bible Reef."

Youth in the ninth grade (and sometimes beyond) participate in an exploration of their faith stories of people in the Bible, in the Presbyterian Church (USA), in our community, and at North Church. The goal of this journey is to enable young people to make a careful decision about accepting responsibility for membership in this congregation. Each youth works with a North Church sponsor. Youth and adult leaders meet weekly for a nine-month period. They engage in Bible study and explore their spiritual journey through drama, questioning, art, role play, and interviews. Outside activities include visits to VIVE and work at Habitat for Humanity. Leadership includes pastors, parents, and church leaders. During the year, wonderful relationships develop, great insights are revealed, and faith grows as youth and adults reflect and play together. Ninth graders in member families receive a letter about confirmation/commissioning details shortly before Labor Day.
