Marlene Harrington has served as Director of Music and Organist at North Church since 1970. In addition to playing organ for worship and directing the Adult Choir, she directs Adult and Youth Handbell Choirs and oversees other aspects of the music program. Other musical activities include extensive accompanying of soloists and ensembles in local schools and Suzuki organizations.
Marlene, a graduate of the University of Michigan School of Music, served as choir director in the Presbyterian Church of Hampton, Virginia before coming to North Church in 1959. She and her husband, Shelby, have three grown children and four grandchildren. Eric and his family live in North Carolina, Amy and her family in Montana, and Diane in Virginia. |
